Through a community-led approach, INIT offers a comprehensive package of collaborative learning and member-led programming to empower college students and community members with the skills needed to excel in the tech industry and bridge the gap between education and industry. Our collegiate and city chapters provide experiential learning and professional development programs, while our professional chapter offers career guidance and mentorships, creating a holistic ecosystem for growth and success.
Through our dynamic programs, offering experiential learning and career development activities, we have empowered members to embark on a journey of growth, skill enhancement, and real-world application, and fostered a sense of belonging and motivation for underserved individuals in tech. Additionally, we leverage our network of corporate and community partners to create robust pathways into tech industry careers via internships and job placement opportunities.

Through INIT, I connected with incredible mentors who provided resources and opportunities, kickstarting my career at Microsoft. The unique community at INIT ensured I had a network of alumni at Microsoft, offering support and confidence from day one of my internship.
Current Metrics
Since 2014, INIT has engaged with a diverse community of over 4,000 college students who have engaged and completed our programming and we have an active and inclusive online community of 8,000 members.
Facilitated the placement of over 1,500 alumni into full-time job opportunities at esteemed national companies like Microsoft, Meta, Google, and JP Morgan Chase.
Established partnerships with more than 100 corporate and community entities

We serve low to moderate income youth, college students, adults looking into a career transitions and their families in all of Miami-Dade county.
Funding Goal
We are seeking a $3 Million investment to further our mission at INIT for the next 3-5 years. This funding will empower us to expand our reach, enhance program offerings, strengthen partnerships, invest in necessary technology, and ensure sustainable growth
Impact Goal
This project aims to serve 3,000 students, youth, adults transitioning into second careers and their families in the next 3-5 years.
